Registered Nurse, Medical/Surgical - Telemetry (Night Shift)

Weekly guaranteed hours: 36. The shift is from 19:00 to 07:00.

Job Description

Sovah Health - Martinsville is a full-service, acute-care hospital known for providing quality healthcare. The Medical-Surgical Unit serves a diverse patient population of all ages and includes critical care services in telemetry. The unit has 41 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4. You will utilize the Meditech electronic health record (EHR) system for documentation and care coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals and groups.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Assist with patient education and discharge planning.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience

• 1-2 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN licensure in Virginia.
• ACLS and BLS certification required.
• Handle with Care and NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.
