Schlouch Incorporated has been Eastern PA's leading site preparation specialist since 1983 and we are still growing! As a reputable leader in our field, we have a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. We are currently looking for a talented and experienced Heavy Civil Estimator with at least 3-5 years of Heavy Civil experience and an entrepreneurial spirit to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans and specifications to identify potential opportunities and risks.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for heavy civil projects including: earthwork, utilities, roads, and other infrastructure components.
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and solicit competitive quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with project teams to establish and track project schedules and milestones.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and vendors to ensure favorable terms, conditions, and pricing.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and address any issues promptly.
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in heavy civil construction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Civil Estimator with a minimum of 3-5 years in the industry.
- Strong proficiency in estimating software and project management tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Thorough understanding of heavy civil construction processes, materials, and methods.
