Key Qualifications:
- Hold a minimum score of 4.0 on an ASL proficiency certification
- Experience working as a Paraprofessional in a school or educational environment preferred
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate using American Sign Language
- Demonstrated patience, compassion, and adaptability when supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and supporting a positive learning atmosphere
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated, one-on-one support to a specific student throughout the school day
- Facilitate communication and assist with daily classroom activities using American Sign Language
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and support staff to implement adapted instructional plans and foster a supportive environment
- Encourage student engagement, participation, and independence within the classroom setting
- Monitor and document student progress and report to educational team as needed
This contract role offers 32.5 hours per week, allowing you to establish a stable routine while making a significant impact over the course of the assignment.
