Marquette Bank reserves the right to offer the selected applicant a salary commensurate with the applicant's qualification, experience, education and skills.Position Summary:Sr. Financial Advisor provides clients with advice on financial matters, making recommendations on ways to best utilize their money. This involves researching the marketplace and advising clients on products and services available, ensuring they are aware of and understand those that best meet their needs, and then securing sales.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Contacting clients and setting up meetings, either within an office environment or in client's homes or business premises.Conducting in-depth reviews of client's financial circumstances, current provision and future aims.Analyzing information and preparing plans best suited to individual clients' requirements.Completing risk analysesResearching the marketplace and providing clients with information on new and existing products and servicesDesigning financial strategiesAssisting clients to make informed decisionsResearching information from various sources, including providers of financial productsReviewing and responding to clients changing needs and financial circumstancesPromoting and selling financial products to meet given or negotiated sales targetsNegotiating with product suppliers for the best possible ratesLiaising with head office and financial services providersKeeping up to date with financial products and legislationContacting clients with news of new financial products or changes to legislation that may affect their savings and investmentsMeeting the regulatory aspects of the role, e.g. requirements for disclosure, costs of the services provided and also the advised products.Perform job-related responsibilities that support departmental and organizational goals, consistent with the scope and purpose of the position.Actively comply with all applicable laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, and all other deposit, lending, or non-deposit service regulations; adhering to the Bank's internal policies, procedures, and risk management responsibilities contained in the Employee Handbook, the Employee Code of Conduct, and other applicable policies.Knowledge/Abilities/Experience and Training Required:College Degree in business or related field requiredMinimum (5) years industry experienceWorking knowledge of investment products, terms and proceduresIllinois Insurance LicenseSeries 7, 63, 65 or 66 LicenseDemonstrated and maintain high level of sales successMust possess excellent interpersonal, listening, telephone, written and communication skillsMust possess a working knowledge of a personal computer, software applications and spreadsheetsMust have exceptional time management skillsDemonstrated ability to handle difficult and sensitive business situations.Solid analytical, technical, creative and problem-solving abilitiesMust remain current in product knowledge, bank promotions and system operationsAbility to organize, coordinate, and direct projectsPhysical Demands:Employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.Employee may need to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Employee may need to constantly position themselves in the office in order to reach upper and lower drawers.Employee may need to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Employee specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment/Conditions:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
