Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Assignment Dates: November 9, 2026 – February 8, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700–$2,840
• Schedule: 10-hour day shifts, typically 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Call Requirement: Approximately 1–2 weeknight call shifts per week, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.; approximately one weekend call rotation per month; holiday call may be required
• Department: Neurology Surgery Operating Room
• Clinical Volume: Approximately 200 neurology surgeries per month across four operating rooms
• Charting System: EPIC Optime
• Scrub Color: Blue scrubs provided; personal shoes required

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the Illinois licensure application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of recent operating room nursing or perioperative nursing experience
• At least 1 year of neurology operating room experience, including spinal fusions and craniotomies; well-rounded neuro OR experience is required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical safety practices, and perioperative nursing standards
• Ability to participate in weekday, weekend, and holiday call rotations
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented surgical environment

Travel OR Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing neurology and spine procedures
• Serve as an operating room circulator and collaborate with surgical technologists and the surgical team to support safe, efficient procedures
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and instruments for assigned cases
• Assist with neuro cases such as spinal procedures, spinal fusions, craniotomies, and other related surgical interventions
• Complete patient assessments, surgical time-outs, documentation, specimen handling, and post-procedure care in accordance with established standards
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and promote patient safety throughout the surgical experience
• Respond to scheduled and emergent call assignments as required
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, nurses, technicians, and support staff to deliver high-quality patient care
