Staff Software Engineer, Data Platform
Virtual Vocations Inc
As a key member of the engineering team, the full-time Staff Software Engineer, Data Platform (HL7/FHIR) will build and maintain software products, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with product management to define roadmaps and optimize code for performance in a remote environment. Key responsibilities Participate in roadmap definition and collaborate with senior product and engineering leaders Evaluate and shape strategic technology direction while providing recommendations on solution architecture Mentor junior engineers and assist in understanding software requirements and estimating project features Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field 10+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role Advanced experience with Apache Spark, Python, Scala, Databricks, and big-data architecture Hands-on experience with HL7, FHIR, Epic, and healthcare technology environments Extensive experience with major cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Amazon Web Services
