About the Role

A growing manufacturing operation is looking for a Packaging Machine Operator to support daily production activities. This position will be responsible for operating industrial equipment, making routine adjustments, completing equipment changeovers, monitoring production output, and ensuring finished products meet quality expectations.

This is a hands-on position suited for someone who enjoys working with machinery, troubleshooting minor equipment issues, and staying active throughout the workday. The right candidate will be dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable learning new equipment and processes.

What You'll Do

• Operate assigned machinery and production equipment according to established procedures.
• Prepare equipment for scheduled production runs.
• Complete machine startups, shutdowns, and product changeovers.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain proper production specifications.
• Monitor equipment performance throughout the production process.
• Recognize unusual sounds, movements, measurements, or other indications of equipment problems.
• Make routine adjustments and replace basic machine components when necessary.
• Load and replace production materials as required.
• Check products throughout the production process for consistency and quality.
• Complete inspections and measurements according to established procedures.
• Stop production and notify supervision when equipment or product issues are identified.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and assist with resolving minor equipment problems.
• Keep machinery and surrounding work areas clean and orderly.
• Complete required production paperwork, checklists, and documentation.
• Follow established operating procedures and workplace safety requirements.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment.
• Maintain awareness of production targets and work efficiently to meet department goals.
• Work cooperatively with maintenance, quality, warehouse, and production personnel.
• Participate in training on equipment, procedures, safety practices, and quality requirements.
• Perform other duties related to production operations as assigned.

Preferred

• Previous machine operator experience.
• Manufacturing or industrial production experience.
• Experience performing equipment changeovers.
• Mechanical, maintenance, or technical experience.
• Experience working with automated or semi-automated equipment.
• Familiarity with workplace safety procedures.
• Experience working in a quality-controlled production environment.

Work Environment

The Machine Operator will work primarily in a production facility and should be comfortable with:

• Extended periods of standing and walking.
• Repetitive physical activities.
• Bending, reaching, lifting, and moving materials.
• Operating and working near machinery.
• Moderate to elevated noise levels.
• Varying temperatures within the production environment.
• Required safety equipment and protective clothing.
• Maintaining a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift.
