CNC SETUP MACHINIST

Our client is currently seeking a CNC SETUP MACHINIST CNC Machinist (Operator/Setup) - Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in Machining or a related field OR 5+ years of hands-on experience in a machining environment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation
Experience following setup instructions, tooling lists, and work orders

Technical Skills

Perform routine tooling setup and maintenance (e.g., drills, end mills, taps, reamers)
Proficient with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, test indicators, etc.)
Ability to install and remove vises, fixtures, and workholding equipment safely and accurately
Experience with CNC machine operation and setup , including:
- Adjusting tool and work offsets
- Setting rotation for large parts
- Calibrating probes, tool setters, and other setup equipment
Perform basic CNC program troubleshooting and edits when required

Machine Operation & Maintenance

Maintain CNC machinery, including:
- Coolant management
- Machine cleaning
- Filter changes and basic preventative maintenance
Operate CNC machining centers in a safe, efficient, and distraction-free manner
Produce precision-machined parts that meet quality and tolerance standards

Material Handling & Preparation

Prepare raw materials using equipment such as:
- Band saws
- Surface grinders
Safely operate forklifts and lifting equipment to move materials and finished products

Additional Requirements

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a production environment
Willingness to follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing best practices
