About the Role:

A nationally recognized architecture and design firm is seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer with 8 10+ years of experience in architecture and engineering consulting to lead complex plumbing design projects, provide technical leadership, and contribute to the development of high-performing engineering teams.

The successful candidate will oversee plumbing system design for new construction and renovation projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, manage project budgets and schedules, and serve as a key technical contact for clients and project partners. This full-time, on-site position offers opportunities to mentor engineering professionals, influence design standards, and contribute to business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee plumbing engineering design for multiple new construction and renovation projects.
• Design and evaluate domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, natural gas, and specialty plumbing systems.
• Provide technical leadership, design guidance, quality reviews, and solutions to complex engineering challenges.
• Review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and other project deliverables.
• Ensure plumbing designs meet applicable building codes, regulations, industry standards, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
• Serve as a primary engineering liaison for clients and project partners.
• Develop project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and resource allocations.
• Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables meet established quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
• Supervise, mentor, and support the professional development of engineering staff.
• Improve engineering workflows, design standards, and quality control processes.
• Contribute to proposals, client presentations, business development activities, and strategic planning.
• Participate in client meetings, project workshops, and site visits as needed.
• Travel to support client engagements, project coordination, and firmwide priorities, including occasional short-notice travel.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 8 10+ years of experience in architecture and engineering consulting.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Expert-level knowledge of plumbing system design and engineering principles.
• Proficiency in Revit and plumbing design workflows.
• Experience leading complex engineering projects, managing schedules, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong technical review, problem-solving, and quality assurance skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project teams, competing priorities, and multiple deadlines.
• Strong client relationship management and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and support team development.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required, sometimes on short notice.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored visa support.
