In addition, The Binding Site is an active and influential contributor to the broader scientific community.Location/Division Specific InformationThe Binding Site VT specializes in the production of polyclonal antibodies, primarily in sheep, and is part of a larger diagnostic company based in England. We currently have a full-time, 40-hour position available for an Animal Lab Technician on our busy USDA registered sheep farm and laboratory in Benson, VT!Discover Impactful Work:The full time Animal Lab Technician is responsible for providing high quality antisera, ensuring all procedural work is carried out/delivered in line with the company's supply and operation process. This includes production and any research and development and design control requirements, while adhering to the quality policy and other relevant regulatory and governing bodies and company policies.A day in the Life:Antisera processingCollection of blood by plasmapheresisCompletion of relevant recordsAntigen administrationTest bleedingWeekly animal sorting for production activitiesCare for and ensure the welfare of animals including but not limited to feeding, watering, bedding, and routine muckingKeys to Success:EducationHigh school diplomaExperienceWorking on a farm and/or with livestockWorking within a laboratory environmentKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesValid drivers license requiredExcellent communication and organization skills (written and verbal)Able to communicate at all levelsGood analytical skillsComputer literacyAbility to multitask and prioritize workloadsMust be able to work in a team environmentExcellent attention to detailPhysical Requirements / Work EnvironmentDependability, reliability, and comfortable working in all weather conditions.Must be flexible due to the unpredictable nature of working with animals and on a farmLift up to 50 pounds +/-Lifting, carrying, pushing, pullingReaching, twisting, turningWalk on uneven, wet, slippery surfacesMust be willing to work weekends as scheduledCompensation and BenefitsThe hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Vermont is $21.00–$23.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
