The following vacancy exists in Goshen Community Schools for the2026-27school yea r: Goshen Community Schools Language Interpreter POSITION PURPOSE: Perform accurate and effective interpretation among all parties involved. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs Consecutive Interpreting Interpretation is delivered immediately after the source is presented, i.e. English speaker says a few phrases, interpreter delivers the message to non-English speaker, and vice versa.) Performs Sight Translation This oral translation of written documents such as enrollment forms, information release forms, etc., is done on the spot, as needed.) Interprets in situations where conflict or sharing of sensitive information may be involved. REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age Possess a high school diploma or equivalent Being fluent in the two languages being interpreted Pass an interpreter test QUALIFICATIONS: Ensures that accurate, effective communication occurs among all parties. Interprets without omitting, adding to, or altering anything said or written. Has some relevant experience Understands and upholds the rights of all parties and respects the confidentiality of the communication. Flexible Shows knowledge of cultures involved Comfortable with public speaking HOURS: As needed SALARY: $21.00 per hour BENEFITS: This position is not eligible for benefits.
