Certified Nurse Anesthetist

Position Information Title: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Site: Northeast Medical Group Hospital Site Location: New London, CT Schedule: Day / Evening Scheduled Hours: 40 hours per week Position Type: FTE EMR System: EPIC Responsibilities Implements accurate, safe, patient centric anesthetic care. Understands physiological implications and anesthetic considerations of surgical procedures. Continuously monitors vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry during anesthesia according to ASA guidelines. Ensures appropriate documentation within hospital and regulatory requirements. Protects all forms of information from unauthorized access. Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care. Continuously engages in projects that maintain and advance professional competency. Qualifications Completion of a Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program. Graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs. Clinical working experience as a CRNA within the specialty/service line recommended. APRNs, PAs, CRNAs, and CNMs must be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process. CRNAs must be able to stand for long periods, wear lead during fluoroscopy/X‑Ray cases, lift 25 pounds, and reach above and below shoulder height. Ability to negotiate patient care environments and move self/patients between anesthesia locations.
