Description: The hiring process involves a profile review followed by an interview with the unit manager. Candidates must submit a driver's license. When scheduled for orientation, candidates must be present in state, even if the first day modules are remote. A radiation badge must be provided by the agency, as the facility does not supply them. The department features three scanners/rooms, two fluoro, six portables, and nine c-arms. There is no requirement to float or cover other areas. Common types of imaging and studies performed include covering the emergency department, inpatient, orthopedic, and spine procedures in the OR. Average number of scans/studies per day ranges from 20 to 30. The electronic medical record and picture archiving communication system used is EPIC and Fuji PACS. Department-specific equipment includes GE machines. The supervisor of the department is responsible for overseeing operations. Physician assistants are used in the department. Radiologists are available in-house during the day and remote at night. Starting IVs is not a requirement for this position. The department requires 24/7 coverage with no self-scheduling. Weekend and holiday requirements are part of the job. There is no call or standby requirement, and response time is not applicable. Scrubs are provided in blues as part of the dress code. If there is an extreme need, floating could occur within designated zones. The cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment. Charting is done using the EPIC system. This position does not require a BSN. The care setting is acute. The trauma designation is level 1.
