IT Project Manager IIILocation: Wayzata, MN – Remote Duration: September 2026 – May 2027 Schedule: 40 hours/week Job Type: ContractJob Overview: We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager III to oversee a large, global transition of the company's IT managed services provider from one external vendor to another. The implementation will affect all regions globally and requires significant coordination, project leadership, vendor management, risk mitigation, and oversight across multiple concurrent workstreams. This is strictly a project oversight and management role. The candidate will not be responsible for IT execution, programming, system configuration, or sprint management. The focus is on project leadership, global implementation oversight, vendor coordination, planning, risk management, stakeholder communication, and ensuring successful delivery against established timelines and commitments.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed project plans and manage project scope, schedules, costs, staffing, resource requirements, and overall status reporting.Lead large, global IT implementations and ensure all workstreams remain aligned with project timelines and deliverables.Coordinate approximately 15 simultaneous workstreams, including dependencies, milestones, deliverables, risks, and cross-functional activities.Organize project teams, assign responsibilities, and coordinate activities across multiple workstreams.Oversee the global transition of IT managed services from one external provider to another.Manage vendor communications and partnerships to ensure adherence to agreed-upon timelines, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.Drive vendor accountability, identify delivery concerns, and escalate issues when necessary.Provide stakeholders with timely updates and detailed information regarding project progress, risks, issues, decisions, costs, timing, staffing, and overall status.Identify and resolve obstacles that may affect the project's ability to remain on schedule and within budget.Identify, manage, and mitigate implementation risks throughout the project lifecycle.Bring appropriate stakeholders together to facilitate major decisions and resolve cross-workstream dependencies or roadblocks.Maintain accurate project data in project and performance management tools.Ensure required project documentation, decisions, deliverables, and records are properly collected and archived for future use.Track dependencies, milestones, deliverables, and commitments across global teams and external vendors.Maintain consistent project governance and reporting throughout the implementation.Support successful implementation and transition activities within an IT managed services environment.Hiring Manager PrioritiesOversight of large, global IT implementations involving multiple regions and vendors.Coordination of approximately 15 simultaneous workstreams, including dependencies, milestones, and deliverables.Direct experience with IT managed services implementation or provider transition.Strong vendor management, including maintaining schedules, driving accountability, and escalating issues.Detailed project planning and consistent reporting on cost, timing, staffing, risks, and overall status.Ability to remove obstacles, mitigate implementation risks, and bring the appropriate stakeholders together for major decisions.Disciplined use of project or performance management tools and proper documentation practices.Ideally, experience supporting IT managed services within a plant-support environment.Required QualificationsMinimum of 4 years of relevant project management experience; typically 5+ years of relevant experience.Demonstrated experience leading complex IT projects or implementations.Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple concurrent workstreams.Experience managing project scope, schedules, costs, staffing, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables.Experience working with external IT service providers or vendors.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Experience with project planning, status reporting, project governance, and project documentation.Demonstrated ability to identify and remove project obstacles and mitigate implementation risks.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex, globally distributed initiatives.Strongly Preferred ExperienceIT managed services provider transition / MSP transition.Transition from one external IT service provider to another.Global IT outsourcing or managed services implementation.Large-scale IT infrastructure or enterprise services transition.Multi-vendor implementation environments.Plant IT / manufacturing IT / plant-support environments.Experience coordinating approximately 10–15+ workstreams.Experience managing globally distributed teams and stakeholders.Previous Cargill experience.Experience with formal project/performance management tools and documentation repositories.Important Scope Clarification - This is strictly a project oversight and management role.
