Registered Nurse

Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical and oncology experience. Hematology-Oncology experience is strongly preferred.

License: Must have a valid nursing license.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is preferred. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification is preferred.

Must-Have: Experience with computerized charting, specifically EPIC. Experience in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Ability to manage blood product administration and central/peripheral line care.

Description: Patient diagnoses include Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Amyloidosis, Aplastic Anemia, Chronic Leukemia, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This unit focuses on Bone Marrow Transplants with various transplant types, including autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic. A heavy emphasis is placed on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention. Responsibilities include monitoring patients in a mixed acuity environment and collaborating with interdisciplinary support teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values. Experience in managing isolation precautions and PPE is essential. Support and management of specialized equipment such as telemetry systems and infusion pumps is required. Flexibility to work a combination of day, night, or rotating shifts based on departmental needs is necessary.
