MRI Diagnostic Radiological Technologist (DRT) The MRI Diagnostic Radiological Technologist provides high-quality diagnostic imaging services to veteran patients. The role involves approximately 90% direct patient care and 10% administrative duties, ensuring all procedures meet state-of-the-art civilian medical standards. Location: Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS), One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. Schedule: M-F, 7:00a 3:30p Key Responsibilities Patient Care (90%): oPrepare and position patients for MRI scans while ensuring their comfort and safety. oExplain procedures to patients and address concerns. oOperate and calibrate MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. oAdhere to strict safety protocols regarding magnetic fields and metallic implants. oReview image quality and collaborate with radiologists for further evaluation. Administrative & Collaboration (10%): oMaintain detailed and confidential patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations. oWork closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare staff to discuss results. oDocument all procedures, complications, and outcomes for quality assurance. oFollow established infection control and patient safety standards, reporting any incidents via the VA Patient Safety Reporting System. Qualifications & Requirements Certification: Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted certification as a Registered Technologist in Magnetic Resonance ImagingR.T.(MR)(ARRT)through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Experience: At least one (1) year of experience as a Diagnostic Radiological Technologist is required. Life Support: Must maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Technical Proficiency: Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently. Compliance: Must successfully complete VA credentialing (VetPro) and background security investigations (fingerprints and NACI). Mandatory Training Selected candidates must complete annual VA training, including: VA Privacy and Information Security Awareness / Rules of Behavior. VHA MRI Safety Training (Level 1).
