About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience required License: Must have current RN license Certifications: ACLS & BLS required Must-Have: Candidate must successfully pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. Travel experience required. Must have completed at least one travel assignment. Description: The Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit requires Registered Nurses for a day shift. Candidates are required to work three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend. The patient ratio is typically 1:5-6. Travelers are not expected to care for pediatric patients as this is an adult-only unit. Experience caring for patients with diabetes, congestive heart failure, infection, sepsis, COPD, and patients recovering from general surgery is preferred. Skills needed include managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy care. Candidates must provide two supervisory references, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least two years of experience in the previous three years. No requested time off is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment. For the remainder of the contract, no more than seven days of requested time off is allowed. Special equipment used on the unit includes patient lifts, PCA pumps, chest tubes, and telemetry monitoring devices.
