Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic, friendly, and reliable Customer Service Representative / Play Attendant to join our Play Café team! In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our café, interacting with parents, caregivers, and children to ensure a safe, clean, and delightful experience. You will welcome families, assist with entry check-ins, manage café/snack ordering, assist with party bookings, maintain a clean and safe play area, and resolve customer inquiries with warmth and patience. The ideal candidate loves working in a family-centered environment, excels under busy pressure, and brings a positive, helpful attitude every day.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming & Hospitality: Warmly greet incoming families, process admissions/play passes, assist with check-in, and ensure all entry waivers are completed.

• Customer Support & Solutions: Answer in-person, phone, and email inquiries regarding play sessions, party packages, café menu offerings, policies, and memberships.

• Play Area Safety & Supervision: Monitor the play area to ensure safety rules are followed, maintaining a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for young children and parents.

• Cleanliness & Sanitation: Frequently sanitize toys, play equipment, tables, and high-touch surfaces according to hygiene standards.

• Café & POS Operations: Take food and beverage orders, operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system accurately, serve light snacks/drinks, and keep the counter and seating area clean.

• Party & Event Assistance: Assist with setting up, hosting, and cleaning up for birthday parties and special family events.

• Feedback & Documentation: Document customer inquiries/complaints, report equipment or facility maintenance needs, and communicate constructive feedback to management.

• Continuous Improvement: Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on café safety guidelines, menu updates, and customer service best practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).

• Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, childcare, or a play space environment is preferred.

• Comfortable using POS systems, computers, and basic customer scheduling/management software.

• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with both adults and young children.

• Strong active listening skills and a patient, calm demeanor under pressure during peak play hours.

• High attention to detail regarding cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards.

• Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to multitask in a vibrant environment.

• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain certification).
