The ideal candidate will have a robust background in constructing and guiding dynamic, talented engineering teams. This role involves coaching and mentoring team members to ensure the delivery of top-tier products and services, specifically within the realms of voice and chat bots. As a **Senior Engineering Manager**, you will:* Partner with leadership, application owners, business partners and peer groups regarding long and short-range technical solutions that meet business objectives* Lead two or more teams of software engineers, provide mentorship, foster professional growth, and ensure team effectiveness* Actively participate in Agile Scrum team activities including sprint planning, refinements, daily scrum, and retrospectives* Get hands-on as required, participate in code and design reviews, evaluate technical work, and influence towards software engineering best practices, including the use of AI development tools* Contribute to solution design and architecture, collaborating with product teams, architects, and senior engineers* Build and develop high-performing engineering teams by hiring top talent, conducting technical performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and knowledge sharing* Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements engineering, system design, development, testing, and deployment, ensuring adherence to modern engineering standards, secure coding practices, and scalable architecture principles**Required Qualifications*** 5+ years of experience managing engineers* 10+ years of experience with designing and building software engineering solutions in cloud environments* 10+ years of experience in one or more modern languages, such as Typescript, Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, SQL, etc.* 10+ years of experience with APIs, microservices, and modern software patterns* 5+ year(s) of soliciting complex requirements and managing relationships with key stakeholders* 5+ year(s) of experience independently managing deliverables* Experience with AI developmental tools**Preferred Qualifications*** Strong communication skills, capable of effectively articulating technical and strategic concepts to multiple stakeholders* Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLM) and their practical applications in conversational AI* Experience developing and supporting voice and text chatbots.* Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or a related field**Education*** Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Highschool diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience)**Pay Range**The typical pay range for this role is:$130,295.00 - $284,280.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
