Quality Engineer

Quality EngineerKey ResponsibilitiesEnsure product and process quality by maintaining workmanship standards and adhering to quality program requirementsAnalyze data from customer feedback, internal defects, and supplier performance to identify quality trends and issuesLead cross-functional teams (engineering, production, purchasing, etc.) to investigate and resolve quality concernsImplement and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address nonconformancesDrive defect reduction and continuous improvement initiativesDevelop, review, and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, test procedures, and work instructionsEnsure all special characteristics are identified and properly managed within control plansDefine and implement process controls, including data collection, monitoring, and analysis methodsEvaluate nonconforming materials and initiate supplier containment and corrective actionsManage supplier quality performance for assigned suppliersDetermine requirements for incoming inspections and maintain related procedures and documentationEstablish and maintain quality standards, boundary samples, and appearance master samplesEnsure all process and product changes meet customer requirements and are properly documented and approvedNotify management of quality issues and nonconforming products in a timely mannerEnsure compliance with applicable quality standards, including IATF 16949 (TS-16949) and internal systemsQualifications & RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field preferredExperience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards, including IATF 16949 (TS-16949)Experience with root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive corrective actionsExperience with control plans, PFMEA, and process validationKnowledge of supplier quality management and incoming inspection processesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approachExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPreferred SkillsExperience with quality tools such as Minitab or similar statistical analysis softwareFamiliarity with APQP, PPAP, and other automotive core toolsContinuous improvement mindset with Lean or Six Sigma experiencePRIMARY LOCATIONAvanzar San Antonio Facility
