Our diverse service portfolio spans housing, behavioral health, youth development, and anti-human trafficking initiatives, operating across multiple locations.Position OverviewLifeline Services is hiring a mental health clinician to support our growing team. The mental health will be responsible for providing comprehensive trauma-informed school-based Suicide Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) services in the North Inland and North Coastal regions. The REACH Program Clinician is responsible for providing education and trainings to school staff and gatekeepers to include outreach and school-wide suicide prevention education, risk assessments, individual intervention services, and care coordination with area mental health support and services. Specifically, will work with district/school employees, youth, and parents in creating an overall school environment conducive to appropriate learning for students, promoting positive mental health, stigma reduction, and suicide prevention. This is a BBS registered role that will help our team implement suicide prevention and early intervention services to schools throughout inland and coastal North County area.We're looking for a candidate who is able to connect with youth and families using culturally sensitive and trauma informed practices. This role requires creativity, flexibility, and teamwork, since your day-to-day work will be as part of a team at schools and will require the ability to make sound clinical decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesImplementation, and delivery of culturally-competent services on middle and high school campuses and in community locations that serve children, youth and transition aged youth (TAY), with suicide prevention and early intervention services in a culturally-sensitive and culturally-competent manner.Present an evidence-based curriculum, Signs of Suicide (including bullying prevention), to 7th- 12th grade students with the purpose of reducing risk and enhancing protective factors as well as facilitate mental health and safety trainings for parents/caregivers, district staff and community members.Plan, coordinate and conduct trainings to school staff and gatekeepers.Provide one-on-one safety assessments and crisis management to at-risk students and their families, while utilizing a trauma-informed care philosophy and recovery principles.Work with the school to connect high-risk youth to selected level (psychosocial group) and individual As needed, provide individual intervention services to youth identified as "at-risk" based upon assessment.Care coordination with area mental health support and services as well as other needed services for youth/ families with depression, other mental health problems, substance abuse or whose history of trauma would indicate a high risk for suicide or self-harm.Work collaboratively and cooperatively with staff and volunteers within the program, the agency, and the community.Participate in all required trainings and consultation/supervisions.Attend all required agency and county trainings and meetings.Maintain accurate and timely uniform record Maintain data collection and contract compliance of records as required.Maintain clear, effective and open communication.Work with school personnel and families to reduce disparities and stigma in accessing mental health services and to provide high quality services to youth and families.Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards of service-partners' protected health information and other applicable information and material in accordance to agency and center policies, and applicable regulations and laws, including HIPAA.Completes other duties as assigned.What We're Looking For Education & Experience:Master's degree in counseling, social work or related fieldBBS-registered AMFT, ASW OR APCC, or BBS eligibleSkills & Competencies:Ability to handle stressful and crisis situations with professionalism, tact, and appropriate intervention, seeking supervision when necessary.Must have reliable transportation to provide services at multiple sites (mileage reimbursement available).Must be adaptable to changes in work schedule and job responsibilities as neededHighly Preferred:Bilingual requiredMust possess excellent written and verbal communication skillsPrevious experience with presenting to or assessing youthPersonal Attributes:Confident and effective in delivering presentations to various audiencesComfortable communicating with students, parents, and school representativesComfortable in discussing suicide prevention with professionalism and sensitivityWork Environment and Physical Demands:Primarily based at North County Middle Schools and North County High SchoolsRequires the ability to sit or stand for extended periodsInvolves routine movement throughout school facilitesOccasional lifting of objects weighing up to 40 poundsTravel within San Diego County as needed, requiring the use of a personal vehicleDynamic school environment with frequent interaction with students, faculty, and staffWhy Join Lifeline? To qualify as exempt, employees must meet both the duties test and the salary test, which requires earning a minimum salary of no less than twice the California minimum wage for full-time employment. The salary range for this position is $62,000 to $69,000 and offers will be made in compliance with applicable laws to ensure the exempt classification is met.
