Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a weekend-focused assignment requiring a minimum of 3 years of recent CVOR circulator experience in a high-volume hospital setting.
Details
Work in a CVOR service line comprised of 4-6 ORs, including an endovascular suite, depending on daily volume
Handle routine and complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures
Cardiac procedures include coronary artery bypass, valve repair/replacement, aortic dissection, heart transplantation, VAD placement, and may include impella, intra-aortic balloon pump placement, or adult ECMO
TAVR procedures performed in the endovascular OR
Thoracic cases include laparoscopic, robot-assisted, and open procedures
Vascular procedures range from ESRD graft/fistula placement or revision to endovascular procedures in the endovascular OR
Unit has capacity for four concurrent procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass
Schedule consists of 3 shifts weekly, 0645-1915, covering Saturday/Sunday plus one weekday (Monday or Tuesday) based on department need
Participation in the call schedule is voluntary
Requirements
Active RN license (TX or Compact) required
BLS certification required (AHA)
Minimum 3 years of recent full-time experience as a CVOR circulator in a high-volume hospital setting required
Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures required
Must be able to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment without extensive onboarding
Verifiable references from at least two prior travel assignments confirming no training was needed required
Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
Additional Information
Candidates must be able to hit the ground running with no additional training required
Accepts local candidates at a reduced rate under the facility's radius rule
First-time travelers are not likely to be considered given the high experience bar for this role
