Job Description
Travel Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position is responsible for delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced medical-surgical and telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple patient diagnoses effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for a variety of medical-surgical conditions.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status and response to treatment.
• Administer medications and therapies in accordance with established protocols.
• Perform essential nursing skills including IV starts, NG tube placements, and Foley catheter insertions.
• Care for patients requiring continuous bladder irrigation.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6.

Unit Information

• 25 beds available in the unit, with an additional 12-bed overflow unit.
• Floating to other units within the organization may be required.
• Use of Cerner as the electronic medical record system.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Indiana is required.
• Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry setting is required.

Scheduling and Availability

• The position primarily operates on a night shift schedule from 7 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Requests for time off (RTO) are permitted but may be subject to blackout dates during holiday periods.
• The maximum allowable RTO is 1 week, with the option to extend by another week at the end of the contract.

Dress Code

The standard scrub color for this position is navy blue.
