Medical Assistant

McGilligan MD is a direct primary care practice, a newer practice model that gives patients more time with and better access to their doctor. Our patient panel is approximately 500 patients per physician, much lower than the traditional fee for service practices that have 2500+ patients per practice. Insurance is not billed as we contract directly with patients, allowing us to focus our energies on the patient and not billing.

Job Description

McGilligan MD is currently seeking a full time medical assistant (certified is preferred) to work front & back office at our office located in Anderson Township.

Education: High school diploma or GED, minimum required.

Years of Experience: 1+ years of experience is preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to communicate clearly with patients of all education levels
• Self Starter and able to work independently
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in stressful situations
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines
• Ability to utilize electronic health record (EHR) software
• Computer literate and ability to learn new software programs
• Usage of Medical Terminology

Highly Beneficial Skills:

• Ability to draw blood
• Assist with in-office procedures

Hours Of Operation: 9am-5pm Monday through Friday. No weekend hours.
