Marketing Assistant - Riverhead Books (Hybrid) We are looking for a Marketing Assistant to join our innovative Riverhead Books team. This position reports to the Marketing Director and works closely with the full marketing team on all aspects of title and brand campaigns in a fast‑paced, agile environment. The role requires in‑office participation four days a week at our 1745 Broadway location; applicants must be able to commute. Specific responsibilities include: Assist the Marketing Director with general administrative support, including inquiries from Sales, Editorial, Managing Editorial, and Art departments. Support the full marketing team on brand and title‑specific marketing and promotional campaigns. Help develop creative programming for our book community, including newsletters, The Eddy, brand partnerships, and more. Update, organize and maintain internal marketing database systems. Conduct consumer research and contribute to Riverhead’s social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Goodreads). Coordinate category‑specific promotions and sweepstakes. Coordinate materials for sales meetings and other internal activations. Manage our reader request program and execute creative influencer mailings. Organize incoming marketing materials, galleys, and finished copies that arrive in the office. Qualifications Strong interest in marketing and book publishing. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Extraordinary organizational and time‑management skills and excellent attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline‑driven environment. Solutions‑focused mindset and dexterity to navigate busy schedules. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of major social media platforms. Knowledge of Photoshop, Canva, online marketing tools, advertising management platforms, and social media analytics is a plus. Additional skills (extra credit) Creating engaging video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok or YouTube. Developing strategic brand or product partnerships. Digital analytics. Photography. Salary : $51,000. All positions are eligible for an annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
