Packaging Operator

Lunds & Byerlys Mitchell Road is currently hiring for a self-directed and outgoing Packaging Operator to create a sensational shopping experience for our customers! This position works a full-time schedule and earns a competitive wage of $22.00-$30.00/hr. We operate 24 hours/day and 365 days/year. For this position we are looking for someone with availability around the hours of 6:00am-4:00pm. ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY This is a new role at our facility in Eden Prairie. In this opportunity you will have the chance to take part in testing out new manufacturing operations here in the twin cities. PACKAGING OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES Our Packaging Operators are responsible for a wide variety of tasks such as: Package finished food products according to specifications and daily production schedules Inspect product and packaging materials to ensure quality standards are met Apply labels, date codes, and lot information accurately to packaged products Load, stack, and box finished product for storage or shipment Assist with line setup, changeovers, and basic operation of packaging equipment as trained Follow standard operating procedures, food safety guidelines, good manufacturing practices, and product specifications, including timely and accurate completion of required documentation Maintain a clean and sanitary work area by cleaning equipment, work surfaces, floors, and tools as needed OUR IDEAL PACKAGING OPERATOR Team player – steps in to assist when and where as needed Innovative – implements trending and forward-thinking production solutions Dependable — comes to work on time and completes tasks in a timely and safe manner Hospitable – provides a friendly face, welcoming environment, and is appreciative of coworkers MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education 1. Required: Highschool diploma or equivalent 2. Desired: food manufacturing, packaging, or production training 2. Licensing/ Certification Ability to obtain forklift certification Ability to obtain food safety certification Experience 1. Preferred: one or more years of manufacturing, food production, packaging, or related experience 4. Other Required Knoweldge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to learn and safely operate assigned food manufacturing or packaging equipment with training and supervision. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, product specifications, and standard operating procedures. Ability to maintain cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail while handling food products and packaging materials. Ability to identify and report product, process, sanitation, safety, or equipment issues in a timely manner. Ability to follow all GMP, HACCP, food safety, sanitation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and company policies and procedures. Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers. Ability to read and understand labels, production documents, and basic information required to complete records accurately. Basic reading, writing, and math skills to complete production tasks and documentation accurately.
