Graduate Assistant Admissions
The Admissions Graduate Assistant will provide overall support with the day-to-day operations of the Columbia College Admissions Office. Other considerations include:
- Perform job duties per Columbia College's vision, mission, and values and contribute to the Division of Enrollment Management and Marketing.
- Practice superior customer service.
- Display respect and civility to all constituencies in all communications.
- Attend work on a timely and regular basis during the established hours of operation; work additional hours as business necessitates.
- Work the Admissions Office front desk by answering incoming calls and greeting, assisting, and directing students, staff, vendors, and visitors as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager, Events Operations Manager, and other staff in the day-to-day operations of the Admissions office
- Assist with event planning, set-up, tear-down, and general operation as needed
- Assist in giving campus tours to prospective students and visitors to campus
- Assist in recruitment of new students to Columbia College by giving tours, working events, doing outreach by phone, text and email
- May require some weekend and evenings
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Must be accepted into the Graduate Program at Columbia College.
- Experience as an athlete
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working in a college environment
Supervision given:
- Student Ambassadors
- Student Workers
Supervision received:
- Operations Manager
- Events Operation Manager
Physical requirements include:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, talk, and hear.
- The employee is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crawl.
- Employee must be able to type on a computer keyboard and use a computer monitor on a regular basis.
Work conditions include:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is rarely exposed to outside weather conditions; however, possible exposure to hazards and physical risks to personal safety may occur while operating certain equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually mild.
