Quick Facts Location: Valdez, AK (911 Meals Avenue, ZIP 99686) Start Date: 07/16/2026 End Date: Flexible, with probable extensions into August, October, and beyond Shift: 10-hour clinic & overnight call shifts (8a-6p and night beeper call) Hours/Week: ~40 hours/week (4 shifts) Employment Type: Locum/Temporary Licenses/Certs: Active license or IMLC, DEA, BC preferred (Family Practice or Emergency Medicine with rural health experience) Experience: Rural health, emergency, hospitalist, or OB experience preferred Pay & Benefits Pay Rate: $1.00/hour (please inquire for detailed compensation package) Weekly Pay Schedule: Via direct deposit Benefits: Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time per applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and reimbursement when applicable Robust referral bonus program 24/7 dedicated support team throughout your assignment What You'll Do Provide emergency, outpatient, and primary care in a rural hospital setting Manage a broad scope of practice including emergency response, OB/C-sections, and inpatient care Support patient transfers when necessary and handle high-acuity cases Cover shifts as needed during specified dates, including overnight call and clinic hours Collaborate with hospital staff and participate in on-call duties to ensure continuous patient coverage What You Need Active medical license or eligible for IMLC DEA certification BC in Family Practice or Emergency Medicine Rural health experience strongly preferred Ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting with diverse patient needs About the Assignment Providence Valdez is a small rural hospital seeking experienced providers to support critical access needs. Providers must be flexible to handle emergency, outpatient, OB/c-Section, and inpatient responsibilities as required in a high-acuity environment. Per federal and state guidelines, all providers will receive necessary reimbursements, and accommodations are arranged in hospital apartments-pets not permitted.
