1:1 Care 1:1 School Registered Nurse | Moravia, New York

A unique opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse to provide dedicated 1:1 care in an elementary school setting located in Moravia, NY. This role involves supporting a first-grade student with specialized medical needs, including tracheostomy care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). The position is contract-based, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to approximately 2:30-3:00 PM.


Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care for a non-verbal first-grade student, including tracheostomy monitoring, suctioning, and cleaning
• Assist with feeding and other ADLs as needed throughout the school day
• Supervise the student during elective classes outside the special education classroom
• Offer academic support tailored to the student's needs
• Ensure a safe and comfortable environment while closely monitoring health status
• Maintain clear documentation of care and communicate effectively with educators and families

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred
• Competency in tracheostomy care and suctioning techniques
• Ability to provide supportive feeding assistance
• Strong observation and communication skills
• Bilingual skills are a plus, enhancing communication and cultural connectivity
• Patient, compassionate, and reliable with a focus on individualized care

Additional Details:

• Position start date is to be determined, with an anticipated end by May 20, 2026
• Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:30 or 3:00 PM
• If all nursing duties are completed by 2:30 PM, the nurse may leave early and still receive full day compensation
