Principal / Senior Vehicle Controls Engineer

Location: Greencastle, PA (100% Onsite)

Duration: 6+ Months Contract (Extension Possible)

Start Date: Immediate

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Principal / Senior Vehicle Controls Engineer to support the development of next-generation high-capacity boom lift platforms. The engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, testing, and validating advanced vehicle control strategies for off-highway mobile equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in vehicle controls, CAN communication networks, control algorithm development, and hands-on machine testing within automotive, heavy-duty, construction, or agricultural equipment industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced vehicle control strategies and control algorithms.
  • Design, integrate, and validate vehicle control systems for mobile machinery.
  • Perform hands-on vehicle and machine testing to validate system performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle control issues during development and validation.
  • Support software and hardware integration activities.
  • Analyze CAN communications and vehicle network behavior.
  • Utilize Vector CANalyzer and related tools for diagnostics and validation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to bring products from concept to production.
  • Support system verification, validation, and production readiness activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Vehicle Controls Engineering.
  • Strong experience developing vehicle control systems and control strategies.
  • Hands-on experience performing physical vehicle testing and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with CAN Bus networks and SAE J1939 communications.
  • Proficiency with Vector CANalyzer and related diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with electrical architectures for automotive or heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
