Role Description The Commercial Construction Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Austin, TX, overseeing daily field operations on commercial construction projects. This role coordinates subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards. The superintendent manages site logistics, conducts daily walkthroughs, verifies adherence to plans and specifications, and resolves on-site issues in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders. Responsibilities include enforcing safety protocols, tracking progress, maintaining project documentation, and supporting inspections and punch-list completion. The role also involves communicating with clients and design teams, anticipating construction challenges, and contributing to continuous improvement of field processes. Qualifications Strong construction site management skills, including supervision of field crews and coordination of subcontractors. Demonstrated knowledge of construction safety practices, OSHA standards, and safety program implementation. Excellent organization skills for managing schedules, documentation, and multiple concurrent tasks. Experience with budgeting, cost tracking, and supporting financial control on active projects. Proven project management abilities, including planning, sequencing work, and meeting milestones. Working knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and building codes. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with clients, design professionals, and trade partners. Proficiency with construction management software and basic office applications.
