Aptive is seeking a full-time Gastroenterologist to join the team at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. • Outpatient-focused GI practice
\n
• MondayFriday, 8:00 a.m.4:30 p.m.
\n
• No call, no weekends, no holidays
\n
• One dedicated procedure day per week
\n
• No ERCP or advanced endoscopy
\n
• Stable patient volumes and strong nursing support
\n
• Mission-driven VA healthcare setting
\n

\n
• Provide GI evaluations, consultations, follow-up visits, and longitudinal care for Veterans
\n
• Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal conditions, including chronic liver disease and Hepatitis C
\n
• Perform standard GI procedures as credentialed, including:\n
  \n
  • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
  \n
  • Colonoscopy
  \n
  • Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG)
  \n
  • Paracentesis
  \n
\n
• Administer conscious sedation per VA procedural guidelines
\n
• Provide consultative GI support to inpatient services and affiliated Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs)
\n
• Collaborate with nursing, clerical, and specialty teams to ensure efficient and coordinated care
\n
• Document care using VA electronic medical record systems (training provided)
\n
• Participate in quality improvement and Specialty Care initiatives
\n

\n
• Outpatient-focused GI service at the Poplar Bluff VA
\n
• One procedure day weekly; remaining days dedicated to clinic
\n
• Typical volumes:\n
  \n
  • 1014 clinic patients per day
  \n
  • 68 procedures per procedure day
  \n
\n
• Dedicated GI nursing staff with shared administrative support
\n
• APP support may be added as service volume grows
\n
• No telework (per national Return-to-Office policy)
\n

\n
• Compensation Range: $380,000$400,000\n
  \n
  • Base pay plus market pay (federal cap applies)
  \n
\n
• Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Up to $200,000 over 5 years
\n

Required:

\n
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
\n
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship
\n
• Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (any state or territory)
\n
• DEA registration
\n
• BLS and ACLS prior to start date
\n

Preferred:

• Board eligible or board certified in Gastroenterology
\n

\n
• U.S. citizens strongly preferred
\n
• NonU.S. citizens may be considered in accordance with VA hiring requirements

• Many successful VA GI physicians nationwide are nonU.S. citizens
