Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst Job Summary The FP&A Analyst is responsible for supporting BMG Money’s financial health through diligent data analysis, reporting, and forecasting assistance. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this role focuses on maintaining financial models, performing variance analysis, and preparing data for management reviews. The Analyst helps track consumer loan portfolio performance and assists in the preparation of budgets and long-term financial plans. Supervisory Responsibilities Individual Contributor: This is an entry-to-mid-level individual contributor role with no direct supervisory responsibilities. Duties/Responsibilities Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning Assists in the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting cycles by gathering data and updating financial templates. Maintains loan origination models and updates seasonality curves to support accurate monthly projections. Performs detailed financial modeling, including NPV and IRR calculations, to support project evaluations. Conducts variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget) and provides explanations for deviations to management. Assists in forecasting financial covenants to meet our debt obligations. Assists in the preparation of financial covenant packages for external lenders. Extracts and organizes data from consumer loan portfolios to track behaviors such as charge-offs and interest rate impacts. Strategic Partnership & Reporting Collaborates with various departments to collect financial data and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. Prepares monthly financial slide decks and dashboards for the finance leadership team. Identifies trends and anomalies in financial data and escalates findings to the Interim CFO. . Process Optimization Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintains automated reporting tools. Drives continuous improvement in financial processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Other Duties Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Technical Expertise Strong knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, data analysis, and accounting principles. Advanced Excel and data analytical skills are required. Proficiency with financial planning systems and data analytics tools (e.g., SQL) is preferred. Industry Knowledge Knowledge of consumer loan products and basic credit metrics. Understanding of customer and loan behaviors (e.g., charge-offs, recoveries, refinances). Leadership & Soft Skills Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills to clarify data requirements with cross-functional teams. Hands-on approach with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field required. MBA or Master of Science (MS) highly preferred. 4 - 7+ years of progressive finance experience required. Minimum of 2 - 3 years of specific experience in valuation and/or modeling required. Experience with valuation, investment banking, transaction advisory, or private equity (buy-side) is required . Previous experience in middle-market transaction/valuation advisory is preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Must maintain a dedicated workspace with reliable internet access to ensure consistent connectivity during remote work days.
