Supervisor Laboratory

Laboratory Supervisor Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Supervisor for a full‑time day shift position (Monday‑Friday, every other weekend) located at Inova Health Center 6355 – Franconia‑Springfield, Springfield, VA. Job Responsibilities Oversee and assist team members in the assigned functional area; ensure key deliverables, quality standards, and performance tracking. Conduct counseling, coaching, and disciplinary sessions; manage team member relations. Select methodologies and instrumentation for laboratory tests appropriate to the patient population. Ensure participation in quality control and proficiency testing programs. Provide high visibility and leadership for daily operational issues across all shifts. Coordinate initiatives to improve work processes and meet success indicators. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: Baccalaureate degree in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology, Histology or Cytology, OR a baccalaureate degree with requisite biology and chemistry coursework and successful completion of a 50‑week U.S. military medical laboratory training course within the last ten years, OR a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist or MLT program. Experience: 4 years of extensive laboratory process experience, advanced troubleshooting, leadership, communication, and team building skills. Certification: ASCP or AMT Board certification covering the relevant scope (MT, MLS, MLT, BB, SBB, C, H, M, SH, SCT, MB, SMB, SM, SC, HEW). Preferred Qualifications Lab management experience with 5 years of generalist leadership. Inova Health System is an Equal Opportunity employer.
