Your job is more than a jobTrauma SurgeonLakeview Hospital - Covington, LAEmployment Type: Full-TimePosition OverviewLakeview Hospital is seeking a Board‑Certified Trauma Surgeon to join our Level II Trauma Program. This physician will play a key role in providing high‑quality trauma and surgical care to a diverse patient population while supporting a collaborative, multidisciplinary clinical team.The Trauma Surgeon is responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with acute injuries and surgical conditions. This role includes direct patient care, clinical leadership, and medical supervision to ensure safe, effective, and evidence‑based treatment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive medical and surgical care to trauma patients in accordance with Level II Trauma standardsPerform routine and emergent examinations, diagnoses, and surgical interventions for illnesses and injuriesDeliver timely trauma consultations and surgical evaluationsProvide medical supervision and consultation to clinical and ancillary staffCollaborate closely with emergency medicine, anesthesia, nursing, and specialty services to ensure continuity of carePromote patients’ overall health and well‑being through appropriate follow‑up care and preventive health measuresAdminister immunizations in accordance with medical and school guidelines, as applicableEnsure accurate and timely clinical documentationParticipate in quality improvement, trauma performance activities, and on‑call coverage as requiredQualificationsBoard Certified in General Surgery (Trauma Surgery specialization required)Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted medical license in the state of LouisianaAmerican Heart Association, Basic Life Support-HCP, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification.Fellowship training in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care preferredExperience working within a Level II Trauma Center strongly preferredStrong clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skillsCommitment to patient‑centered, team‑based careWhy Lakeview Hospital?Established Level II Trauma Program with strong institutional supportCollaborative, team‑oriented clinical environmentOpportunity to make a meaningful impact in trauma care within the communityCompetitive compensation package and comprehensive benefitsWORK SHIFT: Variable Hours (United States of America)LCMC Health is a community.
