Oncology - Medical Oncology Physician

Job Title: Locum Physician - Oncology Summary:

Join a dedicated team at an outpatient chemotherapy and infusion center in Redding, California. As a Medical Hematologist/Oncologist, you will be the solo provider offering outpatient chemotherapy and infusions. Support is provided by a mid-level provider to assist with patient flow and orders. Responsibilities include hospital consults with call, working directly with ER physicians or hospitalists for admissions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of diagnosis, staging, and treatment of hematology/oncology patients.
• Manage patient care in both the Oncology/Hematology clinic and Infusion Services.
• Ensure the Infusion Center operates effectively, offering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other vital treatments.
• Provide remote weekend call support from Friday 5 PM to Monday 8 AM.
• Consult with hospital staff as needed for admissions and patient care.
• Maintain EMRs using iKnowmed and Cerner.
• Collaborate with support staff including clinic RNs, MAs, and billing analysts.

Qualifications:

• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Oncology or Hematology (REQUIRED)
• California Medical License (REQUIRED)
• Completion of fellowship program (REQUIRED)
• DEA Certification (REQUIRED)
• ACLS Certification (REQUIRED if requesting Moderate Sedation Privileges; PALS for pediatric patients)
• Must provide dates of availability (REQUIRED)

License and Certification Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology or Hematology
• CA Medical License
• DEA Certification
• ACLS Certification (if applicable)
