Job Description:

\n

\n
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
\n
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low. 
\n
• Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam.
\n
• Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging.
\n
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
\n

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

\n • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required]

\n • Knowledge of MRI scanners [Required]

\n • General physics and anatomy [Preferred]

\n • Experience/knowledge of computers/networking [Required]

\n • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Required]

\n • Maintain responsibility for all Hospital continuing and annual education [Required]

\n • Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures [Required]

\n • Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required]

\n • Ability to perform MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail [Required]

\n • Excellent customer service skills [Required]

\n • Ability to deal efficiently, ethically, and courteously with all patients and hospital personnel [Required]

\n • Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical personnel that addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of the patient population served within the organization [Required]

Education:

\n • Associate [Preferred]

\n • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study:

Work Experience:

\n • 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program [Preferred]
