The Title Abstracting Processing Manager oversees the daily operations of the title abstracting team, ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant preparation of property title reports and abstracts. This role combines hands-on title expertise with the in-house team and client service teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and supervise abstractors and processing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance reviews
• Review and approve title abstracts, chain of title reports, and property searches for accuracy and completeness
• Oversee workflow across county recorder offices, tax records, and public/private title databases
• Set production goals, monitor turnaround times, and manage team capacity against order volume
• Serve as escalation point for complex or high-risk title issues for the in-house team
• Coordinate with clients to resolve outstanding title questions
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures and abstracting standards
• Stay current on changes in recording procedures, title law, and industry best practices in assigned jurisdictions
• Track key performance metrics (accuracy rate, turnaround time, order volume) and
report to senior management
• Ability to perform title searches as needed
• Pay based on experience
