Lecturer - Motor Vehicle

Lecturer – Motor Vehicle Location: Bedford College – Brunel Road Campus, Bedford. Salary: £33,048 – £38,169 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications. Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Contract type: Permanent – Full Time. Responsibilities Deliver Motor Vehicle Training – teach and assess light vehicle maintenance and repair across various courses and qualification levels. Support Student Success – guide learners through tutorials, monitor progress, and provide high‑quality learning experiences tailored to individual needs. Develop Curriculum & Resources – create schemes of work, implement innovative teaching materials, and contribute to new course development. Ensure Compliance & Quality – maintain accurate records, meet awarding body standards, uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety, and participate in IQA processes. Engage in Promotion & Professional Growth – take part in marketing activities, student recruitment, and proactively pursue training and development opportunities. Qualifications Level 3 relevant qualification, GCSE English & Maths (or willingness to achieve). Recent experience delivering and assessing motor vehicle programmes, strong subject knowledge, and ability to apply current industry developments. Commitment to obtaining teaching and assessor/verifier credentials. Understanding of EDI principles, safeguarding responsibilities, and ability to maintain professional boundaries with learners. Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and influencing skills; ability to meet deadlines and create a welcoming, supportive environment for students.
