You'll help the lead teacher keep the classroom under control and engage the children in all kinds of games and activities. Always enthusiastic, cheerful, and caring, you will:Support the lead teacher during activities, transitions, and routines for infants and preschool-aged childrenFollow health, safety, and hygiene guidelines to keep the children safe and comfortable throughout the dayInteract with the children and encourage their participation in games and activities aimed at social, emotional, and developmental growthAssist with meals, naps, diapering/toileting, and other age-related care needsHelp clean and organize the classroom and prepare learning materialsWHAT YOU BRINGHigh school diploma (or equivalent)Ability to meet state childcare licensing requirements and complete necessary trainingOur Ideal Aide Teacher - Classroom Assistant:Experience working with infants and/or preschool-aged children in a childcare/early learning settingEducation/coursework/training in child development and/or early childhood educationCPR and First-Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)A LITTLE ABOUT USAs a nonprofit serving San Diego's underserved communities, our mission goes beyond providing safe, nurturing care and quality early education for children ages 0-5-we also connect families with vital social services, mental health support, and job training opportunities in early childhood education.
