The Physician Assistant participates in delivering health care services as an assistant or extender to the primary care physician./ppEssential Functions:/pulliReview the work records and practices of the health care delivered at least every two weeks with the collaborating physician./liliDelivers health care services and treatments, administers, dispenses, and prescribes drugs as delegated by the physician./liliProvides after-hours coverage for urgent health care problems for health center patients on a rotational on-call basis./liliInstructing patients and their families about lifestyle changes and self-care techniques that complement treatment plans./liliReferring patients to specialists as needed./li/ulpOther Duties:/pulliPractices Evidence Base Medicine./liliUses electronic health records for documentation./liliCompletes and signs encounter note(s) within 24-48 hours./liliOrders Lab test(s) in the electronic health record./liliReviews and signs/dates lab test results daily in electronic health records and printed results, when indicated./liliReviews and signs/dates radiology reports daily./liliFollows recall policy for abnormal tests./liliUses electronic health records for prescribing medication via e-prescribing and to document patients medications./liliParticipates in the health centers Performance Improvement program./liliAssists in the formulation and implementation of the health centers health care plan./li/ulpJob Requirements and Qualifications:/ppEducation:/pulliGraduate from an accredited Physician Assistant school./li/ulpExperience:/pulliA minimum of 2 years of experience recommended./li/ulpTransportation Requirement:/pulliMust have Reliable Transportation/li/ulpAdditional Information:/pulliClinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m./lili11 paid holidays per year./liliFull benefits package./liliPublic Service Loan Forgiveness./li/ulp*We believe that health care is right and not a privilege.
