Point of Care Coordinator Full Time Days

Major Responsibilities / Essential Functions The primary job duties this position is responsible for achieving are listed in order of importance. Position Summary The Point of Care Supervisor manages the quality, training and regulatory compliance of diagnostic testing performed outside the clinical laboratory such as bedside testing. Key responsibilities include monitoring device performance, training staff, ensuring compliance (CAP/TJC), and managing inventory. Act as a liaison between lab staff, clinicians and vendors. Duties Training and Competency: Train, certify and mentor nursing and clinical staff on point-of-care testing (POCT) devices and procedures. Device Management: Oversee the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and inventory management of POCT devices and supplies. Data Management: Monitor middleware/software to ensure data flows accurately into the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Quality Assurance and Compliance: Develop and oversee quality control (QC) program, ensuring tests meet regulatory standards (CAP/TJC/CMS). Compliance Audit: Perform audits of testing documentation to identify trends, errors and areas for improvement. Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensuring all POC testing meets CLIA, CAP and hospital regulations. This includes auditing documentation, managing proficiency testing and implementing corrective actions. Operations and Leadership: Leading the development of policies for new tests, communicating with vendors and coordinating testing across various hospital departments. Special projects as assigned by Management. Job Qualifications Minimum Education Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications 3+ Laboratory experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates critical analysis and complex problem‑solving skills Demonstrates ability to manage quality and processes highly confidential and proprietary information Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation CLS License (CDPH/ASCP) Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of hire) Assault Response Competency (ARC) required (within 30 days of hire) Status: Full Time Shift: Days Hours Weekly/Bi-Weekly Hours: 40hrs/80hrs
