Account Executive, Early Phase Development

Job Description Account Director, Early Phase Development Reporting to the Director Business Development, Formulation Development this role is responsible for identifying, negotiating, and closing new early-stage development and clinical manufacturing business across Catalent’s oral dosage form technology offerings. In this role, the Account Director will provide customer relationship management support to existing and new development programs. Specific objectives around new business generation across all service offerings will be agreed on an annual basis. This person is expected to drive significant growth for Catalent and play a key role in building Catalent’s brand in the marketplace. This is a remote, field‑based role. The Role Develop and execute sales plans using Miller‑Heiman methodology to identify, qualify, pursue and close new development opportunities within an assigned region to achieve revenue and new business objectives. Work with legal to execute appropriate and negotiate complex development and supply agreements using Scotwork Negotiation Skills Methodology. Present Catalent’s Formulation Development and Clinical Manufacturing capabilities knowledgeably and effectively with customers, and craft specific targeted solutions that meet customers’ manufacturing and development needs. Present Catalent’s broader capabilities knowledgeably and effectively with customers to generate cross‑sell opportunities and craft value‑added solutions across technologies. Support and prepare development proposals in collaboration with R&D and negotiate these proposals. Collaborate with VPBDs, Global Account Directors and other BD teams in the construction and execution of strategic account plans, if applicable. Provide input into pricing strategy with assigned customers. Other duties as assigned. The Candidate Bachelor’s degree in science, business administration or related field; an advanced scientific degree and/or MBA is advantageous but not essential. 5+ years of relevant experience in B2B sales, Business Development or Project Management. Sales/business development experience in the contract pharmaceutical industry preferred. Thorough understanding of oral solid‑dose manufacturing is a plus. Thorough understanding of bioavailability enhancement technologies and manufacturing process is a plus. Benefits Competitive Medical, Dental, Vision and 401(k). 19 days PTO & 8 paid holidays.
