Our practice, established in 1999 and accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), regularly undergoes inspections to ensure compliance with high quality standards of care. We are a 3-DVM, AAHA accredited practice serving Morris and Grundy County, IL, with a mission to provide compassionate, high‑quality care for pets and peace of mind for their families. This position focuses on urgent care cases for our established client base, allowing you to practice efficient, high‑quality medicine without the pressures of a full emergency setting. We have a newly constructed dental suite, standalone surgical suite, and access to advanced training in ultrasound and dentistry that will equip you to thrive. Our ideal candidate has a strong foundation in general medicine and surgery, with at least one to two years of experience, and feels confident managing urgent care cases. Essential Responsibilities Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries. Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results. Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options. Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed. Provide counsel around pet end‑of‑life care. Maintain patients' medical records. Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures. Requirements / Qualifications DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution. Appropriate state licensure. Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD license. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients. Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; assistance required for >25 pounds.
