We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor, a client in the automotive industry, specializing in car manufacturing. This role is direct hire position based in Vance, AL that requires onsite presence . PURPOSE: 
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing daily production operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing performance. This role oversees production teams, coordinates staffing and workflow, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with quality and safety standards within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Execute daily production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel effectively.
• Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery requirements are achieved.
• Establish and enforce standardized work instructions and quality procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing PPE usage, safety policies, and safe work practices.
• Supervise, train, coach, and support production employees.
• Validate employee skill levels and implement corrective actions when requirements are not met.
• Monitor operational efficiency and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels for all machines and production processes.
• Monitor production output, Right First Time (RFT) performance, and operational costs; implement countermeasures when targets are not achieved.
• Establish operational priorities, monitor progress, and adjust resources as necessary to meet production goals.
• Support teamwork and communication between production, quality, maintenance, and programming departments.
• Coordinate jig changes, first-piece verification, and distribution of quality alerts.
• Manage employee attendance, scheduling, and vacation tracking using PayCom or similar systems.
• Maintain forklift and first responder certification requirements.
• Follow all safety procedures, report incidents immediately, and wear required PPE at all times.
• Support quality management system requirements and uphold IATF 16949 standards.
• Exercise authority to stop production in cases of unsafe conditions or non-conforming products.
• Prevent defective materials from reaching customers and reject non-conforming supplier materials when necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production leadership role, preferably within the automotive or JIS manufacturing industry.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based work systems.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 quality management systems and manufacturing processes.
• Forklift certification required.
• First responder certification required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Solid understanding of standardized work methods in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Strong mathematical skills include fractions, ratios, and proportions.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Ability to promote teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong attention to quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and extended hours as required.
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for extended periods.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience in Just-In-Sequence (JIS) automotive manufacturing operations.
• Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing experience.
• Experience with workforce management systems such as PayCom.
• Experience leading quality improvement and corrective action initiatives.
• Familiarity with production KPIs and performance monitoring systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.

FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE :

• Location: Vance, AL
• Schedule: work 2nd shift (2pm-10pm), weekend as required
• Overtime: as required
• Assignment Start: ASAP
