Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Dakota license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience:
Must be able to titrate drips.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
PICU and NICU experience preferred.

Manager will consider block scheduling if unit needs are met.
RTO must be requested upfront and is limited to 7 days per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved after submission.

Unit Details:
Children's unit serves ages 0-18, including routine stable med-surg, intermediate peds, and occasional ICU feeder/grower overflow.
Common cases include ortho, appendicitis, GI, MVAs, respiratory, diabetes, seizures, failure to thrive, and rare jaundice/bili babies.
Provides pre-op and second-phase recovery for some pediatric patients.
Common titratable drips include Tylenol, Keppra, and insulin.
Uses CPAP, high flow, and nasal cannula with RT support in house 24/7 and minimal RN troubleshooting.
Remote Phillips telemetry is monitored on another floor; RNs are not required to interpret strips.
Pediatrician coverage is in house 7 days a week until 5p and on call at night.
Locked unit.

Shift & Scheduling:
Weekend requirement: EOW or every 3rd weekend.
Holiday requirement: 2 per year.

Floating Requirements:
First to float. As census fluctuates, RN will primarily float to NICU and newborn nursery and could be utilized for 1:1 sitting.
