About Us

OTHELLO & ALABASTER is a growing artisanal brand handcrafting all-natural, detergent-free soaps

and luxury solid shampoo and conditioner bars. We’re launching our retail presence at Annapolis Mall and looking for energetic, creative part-time team members to represent our brand in person and online and to help us grow our brand.

The Role

This is not a standard retail position. You’ll be the face and voice of our brand — driving in-person sales during busy mall rushes and contributing to and building our brand and digital presence during quiet lulls. We see you as a contributing creative member of the team and we encourage your thoughts and ideas, particularly in novel social media engagement. We are seeking an actively engaged team member who will take initiative in regularly enhancing our website and take the lead on developing creatively engaging social media posts to broaden our reach and increase our sales. 1. Retail & Customer Engagement

• Greet mall shoppers with warmth, share product stories and recommend natural skincare

routines based on our soaps’ compositions.

• Process POS transactions and handle retail sales.

• Maintain an immaculate, upscale kiosk display, restock inventory and track stock levels.

2. Content Creation & Social Media Growth

• Turn retail downtime into digital traction: shoot TikToks/Reels, snap aesthetic product

photos, draft engaging posts and help test brand growth strategies. Create, post, track and assess social media content and contribute to website development and enhancement.

• Respond to follower comments, DMs and engage with skincare, eco-friendly and pet-

lover communities.

• Help brainstorm viral hooks, seasonal promotions and live demo ideas to expand brand

reach.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled student with strong communication skills and an outgoing personality (preferred). Part time, 10-30 hours per week, accommodating your class schedule.

• Native familiarity with short-form video platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels). Willingness to share ideas, be creative and try new things.

• Self-starter who thrives with autonomy and loves multitasking during quieter hours.

• Reliable, punctual and comfortable working on your feet during busy shopping traffic.
