MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

ABOUT IBERIA COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CENTER:

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services, including medical care.


ICCHC is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for its Lafayette Parish and St. Martinville, LA locations. The Maintenance Technician will cover all three locations.

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

This position will perform timely repairs and maintenance of facility, grounds and equipment. Checks, records and/or reports conditions and functioning of utilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read and follow instructions.

1. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Position requires six months of technical training in facility maintenance or two years experience in skilled trades, i.e., carpentry, plumbing, electronics, heating/cooling. Skills, trade or aptitude for mechanics.

1. JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Basic knowledge of facility maintenance

4. PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:

1. Work requires prolonged walking (approx. 2 hrs/day), standing (approx. 5 hrs/day), and sitting (approx. 1 hr/day).
2. Frequently lifts and positions bulky packages and equipment.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION:

May be exposed to outside environment, noise, fumes, radiation, dust, mist, gases, and poor ventilation. Proper PPE provided.
