Camp Director
$200kCrossover for Work
In-person position at an Alpha campus located in New York City, NY, or Miami, FL — relocation assistance available $200,000 annually Full-time role When students struggle, most schools lower the bar. You refuse. You're convinced that young learners are capable of far more than conventional classrooms demand, and you've led teams that deliver measurable proof. You understand that accountability, motivation, and elevated standards transform outcomes in ways no additional worksheet can. At Alpha, core academics are completed in just two morning hours using adaptive learning technology. This structure allows you to concentrate on the work with the greatest long-term impact: coaching students toward independent learning while simultaneously developing the Guides who enable that progress. You'll be accountable for outcomes within a K-3 cohort, leveraging observation, data, and coaching to ensure each child loves learning, progresses at twice the typical rate, and builds outstanding life skills. This role is neither an instructional coach position nor a traditional principal job. Your days won't be consumed by meetings or administrative tasks. Instead, you'll be present in classrooms, evaluating Guide and student performance, facilitating workshops on resilience, communication, focus, and accountability, and coaching both children and adults toward concrete improvement. Your impact will extend beyond your assigned cohort. You'll capture proven strategies, create playbooks that elevate standards school-wide, and contribute to Alpha's approach for developing future Guides. If you're driven by building people, scaling excellence, and demonstrating that exceptional results follow high expectations, we want to hear from you. What You Will Be Doing Use classroom observations, performance data, and direct feedback to coach Guides and students toward measurable growth. Design and deliver dynamic workshops for K-3 students on life skills including resilience, communication, focus, collaboration, and accountability. Conduct one-on-one and small-group coaching that links student motivation with academic progress and self-sufficiency. Develop and iterate on scalable coaching playbooks that elevate Guide team performance. Mentor and train Guides while consistently modeling outstanding facilitation and coaching practices. What You Won’t Be Doing Teaching traditional lessons or lecturing on academic subjects; core instruction is handled by adaptive technology. Enforcing discipline through punitive measures or reducing expectations in response to student challenges. Operating from an office rather than engaging directly with students and Guides on a daily basis. Managing campus operations, budgets, or parent relations; your focus remains on people development and outcome improvement. Adhering to conventional elementary school methods simply because "that's the way it's always been done." Camp Director Key Responsibilities Fulfill Alpha's three core promises for every K-3 student by cultivating high-performing Guides, deeply motivated learners, and a coaching culture that reliably delivers exceptional academic and life outcomes. Basic Requirements Available to work in person at an Alpha campus in New York City, NY or Miami, FL; relocation assistance is available Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Child Development, Organizational Leadership, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years working with elementary-aged children (approximately ages 5-9). Track record of leading teams of five or more people, including hiring and performance management responsibilities. Experience building, launching, or substantially expanding a program, team, school, or initiative rather than simply maintaining existing operations. Proven success leveraging data and measurable outcomes to enhance team or student performance. Enthusiastic about challenging traditional education models and adopting a coaching-first philosophy. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Nice-to-have Requirements Master's degree in a relevant field. Experience leveraging dashboards, analytics, or performance metrics for continuous improvement. Demonstrated history of coaching adults to achieve measurable performance gains. Experience in youth development, competitive coaching, enrichment programs, camps, or other high-accountability settings. Proven public speaking and facilitation abilities with young children.
