Serco supports the US Department of Health and Human Services CMS contract providing eligibility support for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid services. Our team develops, maintains and manages the infrastructure that is the backbone of this key piece of the CMS contract You will be part of a team of network and security engineers that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver outstanding performance within the program. The team has been recognized by CMS and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program. In this role you will: Design, implement, and optimize networking while ensuring secure and efficient network connectivity. Configure and manage a hybrid cloud network infrastructure Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement highly available and scalable network architectures that meet the performance and reliability requirements of our cloud-based applications and services. Utilize advanced networking monitoring and troubleshooting tools to proactively identify and resolve network performance issues and security incidents. Adhere to networking best practices, participate in security remediation, and perform system hardening and compliance. Knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls and firewall management Panorama policies, routes and configuration, and Cisco route/switch including ACL management. Work closely with DevOps and development teams to automate network infrastructure provisioning and configuration Evaluate and recommend new AWS networking services, features, and best practices to improve the performance, security, and cost-effectiveness of our cloud infrastructure. Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures, and provide training and guidance to team members to ensure knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for network-related incidents and perform after hours upgrades and changes as needed. Qualifications: U.S. work authorization Bachelor's degree in any field Willing to accept 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree 5-7 years of relevant work experience; will need 9-11 years of relevant work experience without a bachelor's degree Experience with advanced networking concepts including but not limited to BGP, DHCP, VPN, and ACLs Ability to work with network vendors and ISPs to setup and troubleshoot issues Understanding of virtual and physical Palo Alto Firewall and Panorama configuration, upgrades, and policy management Experience with Cisco switch configuration, updates, and ACL management Knowledge of networking monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Splunk and SolarWinds NetFlow Willingness to learn Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation for automating network infrastructure provisioning and configuration. Ability and willingness to learn AWS networking such as VPC, Elastic Load Balances, Security Groups, internet gateways, and routing tables Knowledge and participation in security remediation and network equipment hardening Working knowledge of VPN configuration and operation Ability to create and present network diagrams and topology Ability to develop network diagrams and topology, Standard Operation procedures, run books, and deployment and change documentation Knowledge of SAFE Agile process. Ability to obtain and/or maintain a public trust Additional desired experience and skills: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex network issues and implement effective solutions. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Has worked with AWS networking best practices for federal environments Knowledge of AWS networking configuration and management Knowledge of application API connects within AWS Knowledge of security tools such as Zscaler and F5 Knowledge of SAFE Agile and DevOps practices and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
